Broward County has set a goal of placing most of its homeless military veterans in safe, functional homes by New Year’s Eve.
Success would mean the homeless rate reaches “functional zero,” ensuring there are fewer veterans living on the street than those placed in apartments through the county’s homelessness relief partnerships. It also means new homeless veterans will be met with housing and services within 30 days.
