A rush to clear Miami-Dade’s foreclosure backlog backfired Wednesday on appeal.

U.S. Bank N.A. lost when Circuit Judge Gisela Cardonne Ely tossed its foreclosure case against Raul and Julissa Proenza without notice by closing the case March 19 with a one-page order. The plaintiffs and defendants’ names were handwritten. The judge later denied the bank’s motion for relief.
