The Florida Supreme Court disciplined five South Florida attorneys, including one with more than 50 open investigations against him, the Florida Bar announced Friday.
David Prince of Plantation was suspended for one year, which will be up in October. The dozens of bar investigations, based on sworn complaints from the public and a Virginia bankruptcy court, said he abandoned his practice, charged excessive fees and failed to protect his clients. The bar found Prince appeared to be causing great public harm.
