The retirement of the first black judge on the Fourth District Court of Appeal has drawn a diverse set of applicants for a spot on the mostly white, male court.
Fourth DCA Judge W. Matthew Stevenson left the bench as South Florida voluntary bar associations pursue increased judicial diversity by meeting with the governor, mentoring judicial hopefuls and studying state bench interviews.
