North Miami Beach should not have been allowed to rezone property to allow a developer to build several buildings that are much taller than others around them, a state appellate court ruled Wednesday.

Developer Braha Dixie LLC asked the city to redesignate a West Dixie Highway property on the city’s northern boundary near Greynolds Park to make way for two 10-story hotel buildings, a six-story office building and a four-story parking garage.
