The Securities and Exchange Commission announced Tuesday that it has reached a preliminary settlement with George Levin, who ran the main feeder fund for Scott Rothstein’s $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme.

SEC attorney Amie Berlin told U.S. District Judge Ursula Ungaro in Miami that an agreement had been reached but must be approved by SEC officials. Ungaro issued a stay in the trial scheduled to start Wednesday for the leader of Banyon Investments LLC.
