Broward Circuit Judge Matthew Destry, who stirred criticism by sentencing a young probation violator to 60 years in prison, drew four opponents in the upcoming judicial primary election by the filing deadline.

Fort Lauderdale attorney Haccord Curry Jr., Barbara Duffy of Oakland Park, criminal defense lawyer Brian Greenwald and state prosecutor Abbe Rifkin filed against Destry, who was the subject of a Change.org removal campaign in December after his sentencing put him in the national spotlight. Destry revisited the case later to suspend the sentence.
