Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Jorge Labarga will undergo surgery to remove a cancerous kidney this month.
Labarga is expected to spend seven days at Shands Hospital in Gainesville for the kidney removal. He will begin working remotely soon after the surgery, and Justice Barbara J. Pariente will serve as acting chief justice in the meantime.
