I received an email today with this sad news. I met Tam in 1976 as a wet behind the ears third year law school intern at the Dade County Public Defenders Office. I can attest to the fact I learned more law in those 8 months under Tam‘s guidance than in my 2 years of law school preceding my internship and in my 38 years of trial work since. It was a blast. Tam gave his interns real responsibility. I learned how to stand up for my clients because of his great example. I regret I did not keep in touch as much as I should have, but on the half dozen occasions I visited Miami in the ensuing years I always tried to meet with him. Miami-Dade and the legal community lost a great man. Rest in Peace, Tam.
