With President Barack Obama becoming the first sitting president to visit Jamaica in more than 33 years, along with his historic meetings with Cuban officials and a major Caribbean energy security summit in Washington, D.C., hosted by Vice President Joe Biden, all eyes appear to be on the Caribbean these days.

Certainly the eyes of major investors appear to be cast on the string of islands lately, with billionaires building major real estate and resort projects throughout the Cayman Islands, an EB-5 program redefining Puerto Rico, energy plants in the works in places like Trinidad and Tobago, and tourism and infrastructure projects as part of the rebuilding effort in Haiti.
