I am just blown away after reading this. Where did Roman get his law degree, the Alicia Florick School of Law? I followed this story some in the news but this article revealed stuff I didn‘t know. Roman decided from a REAL ESTATE FLYER that showed Guy Lewis‘ property that Lewis was embezzling? S. M. H. I‘m not an attorney but I‘m thinking Roman didn‘t even play one on TV or stay at a Holiday Inn last night. I hope the Bar pulls his license. The only bar this guy needs to be associated with is the one where he apparently drinks before going into court or writing up lawsuits...

  • Joye H

That judge is really sending a stern warning to attorneys never to go rouge or you will pay a heavy price.

  • Jason Swett

And the most horrible lawyer in the world goes to... BERNARDO ROMAN III!!! A rookie lawyer, doing an internship at a low budget law firm would have done so much better! Anyone hiring this guy is just asking to lose their case! Hopefully the Southern District gives him what he deserves and more! Awful, awful, awful lawyer!

  • natalia

everyone knows John Pacenti is Lewis Tein‘s sock puppet

  • jarred carter

this is just a horrible attorney to file a complain without actual evidence. He need to take responsibility and receive his own punishment. He need to lose his obligation to be an attorney definitely getting what he deserves.

  • meow abus

what a horrible lawyer!! he needs to lose his license to practice law.! how could any lawyer possibly lose a case like this!? SMH!

  • Albert

I heard Paul A Calli making all comments on the Miami Herald

  • Jorden

Weird. Seemed that Paul A. Calli was the only person making all the comments.

  • Brenden

I heard Paul A. Cali beat his ex-wife

  • Brandon Simpson

He got what he deserves. I hope nobody ever hires Bernardo Roman III ever again. I don‘t think we have to worry about this guy ever working again

  • Snelly234

This is ridiculous! How can you even file a complaint without factual basis?! This out a bad light on attorneys as a whole.(even though most try to be as credible as possible in their work!). Bernardo roman iii is an extremely bad attorney and I would never recommend him to anyone! Just a shame...

  • Leah

This is insane! Attorneys definitely need to be held accountable for their wrongdoings, especially of this magnitude. It simply gives a bad name to attorneys as a whole when something like this happens. Though attorneys have never had a very good name, many work hard to be credible and as honest as possible. They should not be punished because someone didn‘t use their brain.

  • Debra Owens

I think this just goes to show how corrupt some can be when they get a little of power behind them.
Sometimes the actions alone will verify a persons intentions and they need no assistance in ruining their reputations. Of coarse people of that character will blame it on someone else because they are truly so greedy that they cannot see through their rose colored glasses.
I just really hope that the Tribe gets some justice when it is all said and done!
Maybe Roman should consider a different occupation!

  • natalia

Reading this what a horrible lawyers. Its just plain awful. Nobody should ever get away with something like that. Why would any ever want to hire someone like him.

  • Martin

What an abuse by this lawyer! Lawyers like this should be sent to Siberia for hard manual labor. When people like this take advantage of the system it makes a mockery of our legal system and hurts the people they are supposed to help.

  • Babatunde Akindele

He is a bad attorney to lose a case like this nobody will ever hire this guy Bernardo Roman III again. He is a coward and a cheat to our judicial system.

  • C. Lee

This was a Horrible thing why in the world would someone do something like this? Bernardo Roman III should hide from now on no one will ever trust him again!

  • Ganesh Yadav

Bernardo Roman III had money and had his legal attorney status. Mr. Roman has absolutely no legal premise for his filings, and I agree the implication of perjury in his testimony is beyond comprehension.

  • Judy Workman

How can this guy show his face again after what he done? How did he not get caught before? He should have been more careful and did the people right. He really wasn‘t as good as he tried to make people believe. Now they know not to trust Bernardo Roman III again.

  • Joey M.

It‘s absolutely revolting to see a so called professional pull such an immature move and try to break our code of law. Who dares to call such a person a lawer? Nobody would and should trust Bernardo Roman III

  • Warren L.

Bernardo Roman III is a coward and a cheat to our judicial system. His moral principles are under investigation, how did he make it this far? Nobody will hire this wrongful man again, for he will be and should be impeached from his duties as a lawyer.

  • Kristin

When you‘re in Bernardo Roman III‘s profession, your ethics have to be on point and obviously something wasn‘t. This all screams greed to me, and it was a terrible thing to do on his part.

  • Jerome Caplan

Bernardo Roman III did a terrible job for these people and his motivations must be questioned. Was he paid to purposefully sabotage the case? His ethics are most certainly questionable.

  • Russle

How can anyone ever hire Bernardo Roman III. But he is getting what he put out in the world which is evil. He is a horrible lawyer and he shouldn‘t be wasting the courts time with his stupid acts.

  • Sasha McFay

Bernardo Roman III is getting what he deserves for his unscrupulous practices. His despicable actions make him a terrible lawyer, or better yet he is a con artist. He allowed the hunger for money and power to taint his abilities. If it wasn‘t for this article I wouldn‘t have known about this con artist. He does not deserve a good reputation or any of the money his client‘s paid him.

  • TuRon Davis

I can‘t believe lawyers who you are supposed to be able to trust get full of greed and commit these type of acts. I guess humans will be humans not matter what the title or profession. Bernardo Roman III should never be hired for legal representation again.

  • Dawn Sholun

It‘s unfortunate that there are lawyers as unscrupulous as Bernardo Roman III abusing the legal system for their own benefit. It‘s wrong to waste the court‘s time with complaints that have absolutely no merit or apparent basis in reality. Hopefully that ethics investigation in Flordia will result in more than just a slap on the wrist.

  • Mercedes

Bernard Roman III is a despicable lawyer. If anyone hires him after this they‘d be insane. I know that I wouldn‘t even if he were giving away legal services for free.

  • Phil Johnson

Wow how is the attorney going to lose this one! No one should ever hire Bernardo Roman III again. Very disgusted by this.

  • Mr. Jones

"Bernardo Roman III" is a horrible lawyer. How do you even lose such an easy case like this.

  • Baburamm S.

If you ask me, "Bernardo Roman III had money and had his legal attorney status. Mr. Roman has absolutely no legal premise for his filings, and I agree the implication of perjury in his testimony is beyond comprehension. A competent attorney will stand for justice.

  • ratan srm

I am appreciate this. Here client served carefully. I am amazed seeing this article. Very nice combination with client. Thanks for the article.

  • Timmy

It appears as though Mr. Roman had no legal authority for the above mentioned filings. There is absolutely No factual evidence to support the allegation and again there is no premise for his findings and one cannot simply file complaints without any factual basis to support this claims. It is immoral and unprofessional. Cooke had every right to dismiss this lawsuit.
"The wrongful conduct is the filing of the complaints with no reasonable factual basis to support their allegations," she wrote.

  • Jenifer Lapinski

What a bad lawyer to lose a case of this kind. How can anyone ever pay this guy Bernardo Roman III to do work for them in the future! This is not good by any means!

  • John Preston

Mr. Roman has absolutely no legal premise for his filings, and I agree the implication of perjury in his testimony is beyond comprehension. I mean filing of complaints with absolutely no factual basis to support them should not be allowed and constitute misconduct. Cooke did the right this to dismiss this flippant law suit.
"The wrongful conduct is the filing of the complaints with no reasonable factual basis to support their allegations," she wrote.

  • PAF

Well this just goes to show before filing any kind of motion you better make sure you have all your facts straight. Its obvious upon reading this article that Bernardo Roman III didn‘t have all the fact straight. Now it would appear that he is paying the price for that. Needless to say a court of law especially in the case of a lawsuit. When going into court it always a good idea to have all your "T‘s crossed and your I‘s dotted other wise you could end up paying the price for your carelessness.

  • simone fox

You can‘t file complaints without a sound reason. This article brought up a lot of good points. It was a very interesting read.

  • goldmj

It certainly sounds like Mr. Roman did not have any legal basis for these filings, and the implications of him actually perjuring himself in his testimony is beyond mind boggling. I think that Cooke did the right thing in ordering reparations and dismissing the frivolous suit.

  • Roger Pikeson

"The wrongful conduct is the filing of the complaints with no reasonable factual basis to support their allegations"

How is this guy even still an attorney? Its been looking down hill for a while but this was the nail in the coffin.

  • Inessa Al Obadi

The most difficult temptations are temptation of money and power. In this case you see it clearly. Because Bernardo Roman III had money and had his legal attorney status, he thought that everything should be his way. The law is his power and he is the king. But fortunately he is not. The filing of the complaints with no reasonable factual basis to support their allegations is not allowed even for highbrow attorney and considered to be a wrongful conduct. Now he lost not only money, but his priceless reputation.
Who will hire this attorney after all?

  • Frank Magnus

Tempering with justice can lead to very unforeseen dangerous consequences. Bernardo Roman III acted very unprofessionally. If you ask me I will attribute this to a gross level of incompetence. The endpoint of greed. A competent attorney will stand for justice and defend the truth irrespective of what is at stake.

  • kancha sherpa

After all this I would never hire this guy as my attorney. Bernardo Roman III true example of an evil.

  • kancha sherpa

This just shows us not to hire Bernardo Roman III as an attorney. Or we‘ll regret big time.

  • Carol

Ridiculous, I say. This guy is in hot water, and it‘s only going to get worse. What a joke - makes me ashamed for the legal profession that this guy does what he does.

  • Connie Bridges

Mr. Roman‘s choices and unethical practices are beginning to catch up with him. His attempt to bleed the legal system is now costing him, personally, a huge sum of money, a ruined reputation, possible disbarment, and probable financial ruin. THAT is the cost of unethical business practices. All of this was avoidable. All Mr. Roman had to do was THE NEXT RIGHT THING. No one in their right mind would recommend or hire Mr. Roman based on his past behavior.

  • Dori-McKane Sidhu

We live in such a litigious society. Lawyers like Bernardo Roman III are so greedy for the money that they ‘overlook‘ the truth in a bid for a huge payout. He was grabbing at straws in his haste to win this frivolous lawsuit. Totally unprofessional and should be disbarred for this outrageous conduct!

  • Coloradod Unity

Attorneys need to focus on justice rather than squabbling like geese seriously we might need a new legal system.

  • Mona

This guy sounds like a real piece of work --- I don‘t think he‘s going to be long for this career, after this nonsense... I know I wouldn‘t hire him!

  • Tylerer

Even though he is a lawyer justice needs to be served. No person is above the law in any way shape or form.

  • may

did Atty. Roman knew what‘s he was doing?that was not fair..

  • junjun

omg hope that someone gets the justice here.. how come Atty. Roman didn‘t even studied this case carefully.

  • junjun

this article really blew my mind...

  • Danica

If that really what happened, then I guess she is right. No factual evidence to support the allegation might really throw the case.

  • may

now attorney Bernardo Roman III needs a lawyer himself..

  • may

he needs to face the consequence of his actions, he might be a lawyer but he‘s not perfect.. that was messed up.

  • may

Lawyers sometimes just care about how many case they won.. whether they prosecute the innocent victim they don‘t care..

  • Suranjan Paul

Very useful article, All want to get the best judgement for appropriate low.
