A former chairwoman of Miami’s zoning board has been convicted of felony grant theft and placed on probation.
Janice Ivan Tarbert, who chaired the city Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board from 2012 until her abrupt resignation in May, was sentenced Monday to 22 years of supervised release. The felony conviction, which carried a maximum possible penalty of 30 years in prison, disqualified Tarbert from holding public office.
