A class action lawsuit has been filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court against two Lexus dealerships and Toyota for defective dashboards.

    I purchased a 2006 RX350 with only 18,000 miles. Dash was already showing signs of cracking but I had never heard this problem associated with Toyota products before. Now, four years later, major damage has occurred and I suspect that no financial relief will be possible. This is a major issue with Lexus vehicles since service for these vehicles is so high.
    With the company acknowledging the problem, several years ago, they should step up to the plate and help with the cost of repairing the problem.
    No one wants to drive a luxury car with the dashboard looking like its never been taken care of.

    I have a 2007 Lexus. I bought it used with less than 22k miles. I bought an extended warranty that just expired 3/2014. I brought my Lexus in several times to have maintenance done. On several occasions I did ask about the dash board which was sticky, glaring, and deteriorating. I was told it was not covered under the warranty. I had a platinum warranty. All other repairs were done and the service was exemplary. I had not idea what caused this thinking that maybe the original owner had sprayed some type of cleaner on the dash that caused this. The glare was so bad, my husband finally bought me a cover and we have since put that on. Now I see the A/C vents are also starting to pop out because the dash that is holding it seems to be melting. It really is an issue and if needed I would like to be a part of the solution! Thank you.
