Bar Aims Fat Fee Hike at Inactive Lawyers
Bar dues could be going up, with the heftiest increase being borne by lawyers who don't practice law. Commission on Judicial Performance can continue to issue "stinger" letters to state judges and doesn't have to provide full-blown hearings to do so, the California Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
