NextEra Energy Inc. was sued in Fort Lauderdale federal court over losses of approximately $15 billion in shareholder value following allegations of wrongdoing by the publicly traded company involving alleged improper political expenditures in violation of state and federal campaign finance laws.

Roland S. Chase, a partner at Hill Ward Henderson in Tampa, is an expert not involved in the case in which the plaintiffs, shareholders of defendant NextEra, sued the electric utility holding company’s board of directors and certain of its executive officers.
