Many would view as obsolete the run-down, former telecommunications building at 8000 NW 25th St. in Doral. Viola Sanchez and fellow executives at PS Business Parks, owner of the adjacent Miami International Commerce Center, looked at the building and saw opportunity.

The publicly traded real estate investment trust paid $3.53 million last summer to acquire the nearly 49,000-square-foot building. Since then, the company has relocated a church from the building to its business park next door, gutted the structure and reconstructed the interior so it could accommodate up to four tenants.
