Marty Steinberg, co-managing partner and founder of Hunton & Williams’ Miami office, left the firm suddenly to co-chair litigation at Bilzin, Sumberg, Baena, Price & Axelrod, taking one partner and three associates with him.

Steinberg’s departure over the weekend stunned many as he had founded Hunton & Williams’ Miami office in 1999. Partners are allowed to leave the firm only at the end of its fiscal year, which is March 31. Steinberg resigned Saturday and joined Bilzin on Monday.
