Two deputies have been cleared in an excessive force case.
David Ogilvie, 45, claimed two officers from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrived in response to a call regarding a suicidal person at his Fort Myers home address in 2013. Ogilive claimed he reassured the officers no one at the home was suicidal, he was tired and had to lie down to rest a leg injury. He claimed an officer then leg-tripped him and arrested him for assaulting an officer. The charge was later dropped. Ogilvie sued the officers and the sheriff’s office.
