A two-vehicle collision involving an uninsured motorist resulted in a seven-figure damage award.

Constance Gehman, then 64, was driving in St. Petersburg in April 2012 when she claimed a vehicle driven by Stephen Kerekes hit her vehicle. Kerekes conceded negligence and was uninsured. Gehman initiated an uninsured motorist claim against her insurer, 21st Century Indemnity Insurance Co. After the crash, Gehman complained of neck and back pain, had X-rays at a local hospital and was told to follow up with an orthopedist. She was diagnosed with disc herniations at C2-3 and C-3-4 and underwent C2-3 fusion surgery.
