A private school has been cleared in a wrongful-death case in which a high school student drowned.
Ralei Sealey, then a 15-year-old student at Gulliver High School, died off Key Biscayne while swimming back to a public event at a sandbar from a yacht club in August 2007. Ralei, a three-sport athlete, attended the sandbar event with fellow high school football players and two coaches. Julia Sealey, his mother and estate representative, sued Gulliver Schools Inc. for negligent supervision and sought $5 million in damages.
