A jury awarded $8 million in damages following the death of a disabled man at a training center.

The estate of Justin Scott-Duns, who died at 23, sued Life Concepts Inc. following his death at Life Concept’s Quest Adult Day Training Center in Orlando in March 2013. Justin, who suffered from cerebral palsy, allegedly got sick after lunch, vomited, choked on the vomit and died from asphyxiation. The estate claimed Justin should have been moved immediately to the nurse’s room when he began vomiting.
