A jury awarded $299,778 in damages for an all-terrain vehicle accident in a wooded area near Naples.
In July 2007, Brittany Falkner, 17, was ejected from an ATV driven by boyfriend Edward Murawski and struck a tree face-first. She suffered a closed head injury, fractured jaw, collapsed right lung and a spinal burst fracture. She claimed she’ll have permanent scars and ever-worsening cognitive skills that would increasingly limit day-to-day activities and sought more than $100 million.
