The city of Boca Raton has agreed to pay a six-figure amount to a former employee who alleged retaliation.

Christine Ferrigan was terminated from her position as a utilities coordinator with the city in December 2008 after reporting alleged water violations to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Palm Beach County Department of Health. The alleged violations included swimming pool water directed to a swale and steps not taken to assure reclaimed water did not mix with potable water.
