A food server was awarded almost $59,000 in damages in a Fair Labor Standards Act case.

After being hired in February 2014, Yunier Ortega alleged Las Brisas Restaurante LLC in Hollywood paid him $20 per shift while he worked 70 hours per week as a non-exempt hourly employee. After complaining about not being paid promptly or at all, Ortega was terminated in August 2014, and he filed suit.
