A jury found a car renter and Hertz Corp. not liable in a Sanford vehicle accident.
After Clyde Stokes’ motorcycle collided with a car driven by Nathaniel Phillips on County Road 415, Stokes sued Phillips, car renter Delana Wynn and Hertz for negligence. Stokes, who suffered a neck injury and a fractured right shoulder and right fibula, argued Wynn was negligent for leaving the rental car’s keys where they could be easily taken.
