A jury has awarded a woman $250,087 after she slipped and fell on spilled liquid detergent in a Broward County store.
Michele Barry, 68, sued Dolgencorp LLC, owner of Dollar General Stores, for failing to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition. Barry said she slipped and fell on blue liquid detergent in a store aisle, resulting in compression fractures to her back. Her counsel asserted the store video showed a teenager kicking a soccer ball into a bottle of detergent, which spilled, at least eight minutes before Barry’s fall.
