An insurance carrier agreed to pay $475,000 to a woman who claimed she injured her neck when a sedan struck her vehicle head on.
Maria Paredes, then 28, was driving her sedan southbound on Indian Trace Road in Weston when Stephen Pollinger hit her. Paredes claimed she saw headlights coming at her in her lane and couldn’t avoid the collision. She alleged Pollinger was impaired by the sleeping medication Ambien. Paredes suffered a herniated disc at C5-6. She claimed she developed pain into her shoulders with tingling and numbness down her arms.
