A jury awarded $388,488 to a woman who claimed a broadside collision caused permanent pain in her left wrist.

Tamara Marcus, then 40, was driving her Lexus sedan on Boynton Beach Boulevard in Palm Beach County when Dennis McNamara drove his Hyundai sedan out of a condominium development and hit the passenger side of her vehicle. Marcus sustained a distal radius fracture of her left wrist of her nondominant hand. She underwent open reduction-internal fixation surgery with a plate and nine screws and the following year had revision surgery. She claimed she developed complex regional pain syndrome and suffered a decreased range of motion and a loss of strength in her hand.
