A man who claimed he injured his neck and back in a motor vehicle accident recovered $34,828.
Rafael Torres, then 56, was driving on Okeechobee Boulevard at Fox Trail Boulevard in West Palm Beach when he was rear-ended by Michael Futterer. Torres claimed he was stopped for a red light. Futterer claimed Torres stopped short on a yellow light. Torres was diagnosed with disc herniations at C2-3, C3-4 and L5-S1. He initiated an underinsured insurance claim against his own insurance carrier, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., seeking benefits.
