A jury awarded $82,056 to a man who claimed a Hallandale Beach police officer used excessive force and falsely arrested him after an alleged traffic violation.

Kenneth Salazar, then 37, was pulled over by Josue Hernandez. Salazar claimed Hernandez ordered him out of his car, punched him in the face and kneed him in his chin. After he fell to the ground, he claimed Hernandez pepper-sprayed his face. He claimed head, eye and facial injuries. He claimed he had been driving in a lawful manner.
