A jury decided a truck driver was not liable for a collision in West Palm Beach that killed the other driver.
Sue Ellen Kelly, 65, was driving northbound at U.S. Highway 1 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when she was involved in a broadside collision with a FedEx truck operated by Lynn Zawackis. Due to a hurricane, the traffic lights at the intersection were inoperative, and stop signs had been installed in all four directions. The estate claimed Zawackis was distracted for three seconds when she looked down between her seats.
