A jury awarded more than $1.3 million to a tow truck driver who suffered ankle and pelvic fractures and a torn urethra while he was hooking up a disabled tractor-trailer.

Lawrence Lindsay, then 46, was off the right shoulder of I-95 in Palm Beach County when he claimed Sandra Cornett’s sedan hit him. Cornett claimed another driver, Roger Rose, entered her lane and sideswiped her car, causing her to lose control and strike Lindsay. Rose claimed he changed lanes but didn’t hit Cornett’s car, which was alleged to be speeding at 70 mph. Lindsay claimed he couldn’t return to work because he was unable to climb into his truck or work the clutch. He claimed he limps and has erectile dysfunction due to the pelvic fractures and urethra injury.
