A jury awarded $88,110 to a woman who claimed her neck was injured when a tire struck her at an auto shop.

Yvonne McBride, then 54, went to Surefire Automotive owned by 6481 Auto LLC to have her vehicle serviced. She claimed employees were unloading tires from a truck in front of the Plantation store when a tire rolled away and hit her, knocking her to the ground. Surefire Automotive did not answer the complaint, and a default judgment was entered against it for liability. McBride was diagnosed with disc herniations at C4-5 and C5-6. She underwent seven weeks of physical therapy three times per week. She missed a week of work. She claimed she continued to have pain and restrictions on performing activities of daily living.
