Cuban American Bar Association President Annie Hernandez has had a lot on her plate since her term began Jan. 1.
As diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba continue to thaw, the organization has been taking public stances on Americans’ visits to the island. A recent CABA publication included countervailing opinions on the trade embargo written by U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Patricia Vila of CNN’s Havana bureau. And the group is planning a September conference about Cuba that it hopes will draw businesspeople and lawyers from across the U.S.
