Miami-based real estate brokerage Pointe Group Advisors LLC has been trying for the past few years to transform Coconut Grove retail by building a portfolio of storefronts to attract swanky brands that would help rekindle the strip as a Saturday night destination. A merger promises to put that plan on steroids, the company’s founder told the Daily Business Review.
In the deal announced last week, Toronto-based Colliers International Group Inc. said it had acquired Pointe Group for an undisclosed sum. Peter Gardner, who founded Pointe Group in 2003, will lead Colliers International’s property management operations in South Florida, a portfolio of more than 7 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space.
