Six people from Miami and Brazil have been indicted by federal prosecutors in a mortgage fraud scheme before the housing crash.

Raul Enrique Quintana of Miami, Maura Barbosa Lopes of Brazil and Arnaldo Almeida Prado Neto of Brazil purchased and refinanced residential properties in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, including a number of properties on Fisher Island, with fraudulent misrepresentations on their mortgage applications and related documents, federal prosecutors charged.
