Georgetown was meant to be a gleaming lakefront subdivision with high-end condos near the football fields, soccer pitches and aquatic center of Lauderhill’s Central Broward Regional Park & Stadium in a part of the county earmarked for redevelopment.

Tennis courts, expansive manicured grounds and winding trails were supposed to draw homebuyers to support new retail and arts projects, but the housing crash forced developer Centerline to change direction as sales at the 320-unit project came to a screeching halt after the construction of about 200 homes.
