After prodding by a city commissioner and attention by news media, the city of Miami is taking a tougher look at a deal that would give away potentially valuable air rights to a developer.

City Commissioner Francis Suarez told the Daily Business Review that city planners pushed back on a draft agreement with the developer of the Miami Worldcenter project after attention was focused on a waiver of potentially million of dollars in fees for giving up air rights. The city commissioners are scheduled to discuss a final version of the agreement at 4 p.m. Monday.
