I know you may be saying to yourself, what does sea-level rise have to do with golf? If experts are correct, one troubling connection will be that several of the most beautiful golf courses around the world, by virtue of their coastal location, will one day be under water. However, if local governments shoot for “PAR,” maybe such golf courses will have a different fate.
PAR, in this instance, does not relate to golf, but instead is an acronym for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s adaptation planning strategies and stands for “protect, accommodation and retreat.”
