A semi-autonomous city agency that manages downtown Miami’s Museum Park is working to turn the public space into a choice port of call for marquee sailing events, the Daily Business Review has learned.

Timothy Schmand, executive director of the Bayfront Park Management Trust, told the DBR that his organization is in talks to move part of the sailboat exhibitions associated with the Miami International Boat Show to the park’s waterfront. In plans under discussion, boats would dock along the park seawall, including the 7-acre FEC slip on the south side of the park.
