Hollywood’s Liberia neighborhood is easy to miss. East of I-95 and tucked between Stirling Road and Sheridan Street, its biggest claim to fame might be the neighboring shops of Oakwood Plaza.
But a New Yorker is looking to change that. Robert Fautz, whose firm renovates rundown real estate into environmentally sustainable and profitable investments, plans to pump $33 million into Liberia, once the city’s segregated African-American neighborhood, over the next five years.
