Two longtime opponents of the Miami Worldcenter project are looking to turn back the clock on the sprawling mixed-use development, filing a lawsuit that would force the project to repeat the political gauntlet.

The petition filed Monday in the Miami-Dade Circuit’s appellate division asks to quash a Miami City Commission resolution passed in late April to close several roads in the 17-acre project to make way for redevelopment. The road closures took months to maneuver through the municipal bureaucracy.
