Nine months after the U.S. Supreme Court extended constitutional protection to same-sex couples, Florida’s gay rights brigade finally clinched victory.

U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle granted summary judgment to the plaintiffs in the companion cases Brenner v. Scott and Grimsley v. Scott. The Tallahassee judge’s order is the sequel to his preliminary injunction issued last Aug. 21 outlawing Florida’s ban on same-sex marriage.
