Politics and lying about sexting have gotten a former Homestead official and her Tampa lawyer into a whole lot of trouble with the Third District Court of Appeal.

On Feb. 11, the appellate court ordered attorney Kelsay Patterson to pay however much a judge determines “for advancing a frivolous appeal.” That’s on top of the $160,000 sanction Patterson and his client Johanna Faddis must pay the city for committing fraud on the court.
