Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Michael Hanzman on Thursday tossed Miami-Dade County mayoral candidate Raquel Regalado’s lawsuit claiming the department of elections improperly helped her opponent, the incumbent mayor, qualify for the race.
“On Tuesday the citizens of Miami-Dade County will go to the polls to elect their mayor,” the judge wrote. “He or she will not be anointed by judicial fiat. So it is time for [Regalado] to make her ‘argument’ to those who have the power to place her in office—the voters.”
