The Fourth District Court of Appeal on Wednesday wiped out most of the $2.3 million award attorney Patrick J. Casey had won from his former firm.

Casey was a name partner and founding member of the West Palm Beach law firm now known as Ciklin Lubitz Martens & O’Connell until he withdrew in 2012 after about 27 years with the company. After he left, he brought a breach-of-contract suit claiming an amended partnership agreement from 2000 entitled him to 10 percent of the firm’s assets and other considerations.
