It looked like the odds were against Fort Lauderdale attorney Jonathan Pollard when he represented a tech startup facing a noncompete injunction that blocked further work with famed international motivational speaker and personal finance instructor Tony Robbins.
Florida law allows enforcement of noncompete provisions in cases involving “substantial relationships” or clients. At first glance, it seemed business from the bestselling author and cohost of “Oprah’s Lifeclass” would fit that criteria.
