A former longtime shareholder in the Naples office of Roetzel & Andress claims the Ohio-based law firm attempted to enforce a noncompete agreement in violation of Florida Bar rules.

Robert Menzies, a former Roetzel litigation practice group leader, filed the suit in Fort Myers federal court Oct. 14. He sued after Roetzel filed a lawsuit to enforce its contract in federal court in Ohio—in an attempt to circumvent Florida Bar rules, alleges Menzies’ attorney, Orlando solo attorney David Oliver.
