Miami-Dade Circuit Judge John Thornton Jr. had jurisdiction to consider the Miccosukee tribe’s fraud and racketeering lawsuit against its former attorneys at Lewis Tein and properly disposed of it, the Third District Court of Appeal ruled Wednesday.
The tribe was embroiled in a bitter court battle with Miami attorneys Guy Lewis and Michael Tein.
