A Jones Day partner and former national co-chairman of Akerman’s Latin America and Caribbean practice has joined Shutts & Bowen as a partner in its real estate practice group.
Rafael A. Aguilar joins Shutts & Bowen four years after moving to the then-fledgling Miami office of Jones Day, where he was a partner in the firm’s banking and finance practice. At Shutts & Bowen he will focus on representing real estate developers, homebuilders and financial institutions that offer financing for large real estate projects in transactions throughout the U.S. and Latin America.
